With a sophisticated new design, the new G2180 features a curved handle that is fully adjustable to any angle for video applications. The handle can also be removed for use in still photography and is reversible for left and right-handed users. Ideally designed for bird watching, the G2180 can be used with medium sized spotting scopes and can support payloads up to 4 kg. The matte black body is not only offers a distinguished appeal, but it also provides camouflage protection in the outdoors. And, with every aspect of design in mind, Gitzo includes a cap to replace the handle attachment and preserve the sophistication of this piece.
The G2180 head is crafted from a lightweight techno-polymer material and allows for easy transportation and travel, making the weight of the head a mere 2,6 kg.
The new G2180 Fluid Head maintains all the features of Gitzo standard range which photographers have come to value over the years. In addition to the quick release camera plate with its featured triple safety device, an extra smooth fluid operation and separate pan and tilt controls, Gitzo developed a new fully adjustable counter balance system that can be turned on and off and adjusted to seven positions according to user preference and the equipment used. The new adjustable counter balance system is a unique application for such a small sized head. It makes the new G2180 the most complete compact fluid head in the market with the best performance-size ratio.
The quick release plate also features a new Safe Grip rubber that substitutes cork for increased locking and vibration absorption performance and durability.
